About Us

Ellipsis is a sustainable luxury womenswear brand that believes in creating timeless elegant ready-to-wear garments. Glasgow based brand founded in 2020, by myself Nicole Christie. Designing is something I've always wanted as a young girl, from watching aspiring designers on Project Runway; I never imagined 15 years later it would be me named Scottish Fashion Designer of the Year. I would place garments on the floor in the famous "Art Attack" fashion, styling different outfits together and making both my Mum and Dad watch and take photos.

All Luxury garments & accessories are designed and handmade strengthening artisanal skills that have been lost in a mass-produced industry

Ellipsis believes in slowing fast fashion by creating unique timeless garments to a high quality. Ellipsis creates the small sustainable wardrobe for woman who can own only a few items and be able to create many outfits to take her from day to night. Our Mission is to make sustainability seductive, to create the small sustainable wardrobe and to highlight the importance of high-quality garments. Garments are seasonless and manufactured in small batches to reduce overstock. In return this will create less waste and harm to our environment.

As a brand we believe it is important to be as transparent as possible for our customers. Letting you see the process behind your garments, from designing, pattern drafting, toiling, sourcing, manufacturing and those behind the scene moments. Before your garment is made in final fabric it undergoes a process known as toiling. This process not only uses a lot of time but also a lot of fabric; Ellipsis uses and recycles unwanted clothing using fastenings and material from the clothing for the toiling process. We see this as a very small step but nevertheless a step in the right direction in reducing waste in an extremely polluted industry.

A brand created and manufactured in Scotland, sustainable fashion can be fashionable.

I am a First Class BA Hons Fashion Design & Production Graduate. After graduating I became one of four Scottish Modern Artisans for Yoox Net-a-Porter and The Princes Foundation. Yoox Net-a-Porter Group teamed up with The Princes Foundation on a collection of Mens and Womanswear, that debuted in 2020. The partnership, which is known as the Modern Artisan Project, unites students and graduates from Scotland and Italy.

The experience bridged the gap between education and industry strengthening skills to design and manufacture garments to High-End Luxury standard. Sustainability wasat the core of the partnership, educating the importance of sustainability within the fashion industry. The skills and importance of sustainability has greatly influenced Ellipsis.

February 2022, I had the honour to present Ellipsis to, at the time, His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall and Kate Duchess of Cambridge. It was the most surreal and incredible experience. I was humbled with their interest in sustainability, how the Modern Artisan shaped the brand and the future of Ellipsis.

A strong believer in everything having a meaning and purpose, the name derives from my lucky number three. An Ellipsis is the set of three dots at the end of a sentence, more is yet to come…
